    1. It is freezing here in NY. Winter cold. I can’t believe a woman as smart as Amal would be out and about in this outfit. Same as with that red sleeveless sweater-dress a few days ago.

I guess fashionistas don’t feel the cold. 🙂

  1. What an awesome hand-painted trench! Typical Amal. There is so much wonderful joy and humor with it, istn’t it? My only question is: why always sleeveless, dear Amal???
Is there any answer provided by fashonistas like you, dear Nati?

THX a lot for informing us with the rare fotos lately, dear Nati. Perhaps security for Amal is taken much more serious and fotographers are no more welcome?

  5. Maybe she is sending a fun message that she is going to take a year off – maternity leave???? Nati do you have any inside information?

      1. It was once. She is already about 5’9″ why the need to always stand out and look taller?

  6. Whoa, serious bit of ’emperor’s new clothes’ thing going on here.

That is the most ordinary trench and a few garish daubs do not turn it into something interesting.

  7. She is with her brother Zak in this photo- they live in NYC – a nice family. I like this trench its super fun and reminds me of Amal’s fun free funky style of dressing when she was engaged.

  8. I don’t get how she doesn’t freeze with no coat and such a thin frame! People in NYC are still donning winter coats. I love that we can vicariously live through her fashion statements but there is something to be said for being practical. She could’ve even worn a long sleeve layer underneath it like the model.

    1. Everyone’s different. I know someone who ventures outside in a light jacket or no jacket with temperatures hovering at or below zero. Just the way they are built. Doesn’t get sick any more often that the next person. And I myself will start to wear shoes without socks at the earliest possible opportunity. 1 degree above zero and the boots and socks go away 🙂 We are all different.

  9. I don’t like to comment on women’s bodies – but her arms look as thin as a childs, she had a healthy figure before marrying. Why does this happen to women who are thrust in the limelight? They are judged from head to toe and expected to be models. Also, other than family or work related colleagues, I don’t believe I have ever seen a photo of Amal (and there are plenty out there) of Amal hanging out with a bunch of her own girlfriends. Perhaps she is one of those women who don’t have many girlfriends.

  10. This trench is nothing but ridiculous. I sometimes think designers do this to see how far a women will go just to wear a designer brand. What a waste of money.

  11. Nati, why such a reply on a comment that is a different opinion than yours? Whether you think the coat is ridiculous or cool is just a matter of taste. Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion, right? If not, this blog wouldn’t be interesting.

      1. Nati you are always so defensive – why both with the blog if you are just going to block or contradict a different point of view.

      2. Nati….you are completely defensive and I wish you would take a step back and realize it. People have different opinions yet you do not want them to share if they are not all raving about AC or agreeing with what you think. Donnie made a great point but because AC wore the coat, he cannot even express it without you trying to tell him what he should think. It’s fine to admire someone but your obsession is a bit worrying…

      3. Respect has nothing to do with obsession. You can express yourself but with respect. Real obsessed people are people who post everyday negative comments or Instagram/Twitter/etc. posts against Amal.

      4. Hi Nati,
I feel the same like some of the commenters here. Sometimes I really thought, that you are perhaps her sister or so, because you often do not allow negative comments on Amal. I do not mean comments. I am happy, that we all have different tastes and it is not bad, if somebody does not like this coat…..
        Or am I wrong?

    1. Life is filled with positives and negatives, hits and misses. And so is fashion.

If people’s taste, and comments, were all the same, how boring life and this blog would be. 🙂

Il fait froid à New York et elle est bras nu très tres souvent même si elle est conduite par un chauffeur. On est souvent en voiture nous aussi… cela dit son manteau est rigolo

  13. Nati – I respect that you think it is a cool trench. LIke the others have said, everyone has a right to their own opinion. BTW I love lots of things Amal wears – just not this one.

  14. It’s ok, not loving it. I think the entire ensemble would have looked better if she had a tight black long sleeve top on. It would looked more appropriate in that cold weather and balanced out the dark bottoms and pants.

  15. I agree with Nati and many others that this coat is pretty cool! I would wear it and it feels like amal pre-wedding for sure. calling it unappropiate to the NY weather right now, OK,, but call it “ridiculous”…well.. have a bit fun! I like the fact that Amal does not take herself too seriously in her fashion, she is not austaire and i appreciate her 360 degrees changes all the time. Fashion has to be fun! Besides.. i am a sucker for sunshines and spring fun:)

  16. I am afraid the coat’s motifs remind me of something a young child might have on their clothing and it is definetley not attractive to me.
On the other hand, it does show a quirky sense of humour and if Amal likes it that is all that matters. Harmless fun really. I really believe there are two types of people, those who feel the cold and those who don’t. She is obviously at one extreme. I need a jacket as soon as the temperature hits 24 degrees Celsius. Guess we are all different and that makes us unique.

  17. Nati, I appreciate your blog very much. I think it is great and I want to thank you for all the effort you put in it. For me, the reason why this blog is interesting is because there are so many different opinions on Amal and her style. I find that fascinating. I understand that you want to avoid rude comments being posted. But sometimes it seems like you judge too fast. On the otherhand, you do post such comments, although you feel they are negative. Anyhow, your blog is great and we all find Amal wunderfull and her style fascinating.

  18. THe coar is super funky LOVE IT. Just want to understand not WHY does she dress lightly in freezing weather.. but HOW can she do it and look so awesome still. not even gloves or a hat. Seriously even the braviest New yorkers are shivering in their pants these last 1-2 weeks. I dont understand is it a fashion statement?

  19. I always loved her funky style. She is the only one who can wear this style with elegance. Amal is perhaps not a perfect beauty but , but she has the grace. Lovely Amal !

  20. I think Amal just wanted to be “funky cool” on that day and she delivered; wedge high booties, cropped rolled up pant, and a cute hand painted sleeveless trench. A statement piece. Fun and funky cool for the day. 🙂 Unseasonable, but nonetheless “funky cool”.

  21. Ladies, think about it: maybe Amal just has a lot of chest hair, and that’s why she’s never cold. 🙂 I’d be pretty warm all the time if I had a lot of chest hair, too.

  22. maybe she is hyperthyroid? would explain her extremely thin frame, slightly exopthalmic (“bulging”) eyes, and heat intolerance. People with hyperthyroidism are always burning up and can’t seem to put weight on!

  23. That’s her way of supporting a talented female Lebanese designer aka Mira Mikati who just happened to go solo and launched her first spring collection that happens to be very funky and fresh so even we like or dislike the coat there’s a valid reason why she chose that particular coat. She can wear whatever she wants and she’s known for taking fashion risks.

  24. The coat reminds me of the train on Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress (pictures made by her children adorned the train).

Interesting coat…not something I would wear but clothing/fashion should not be taken too seriously. What she is wearing is not vulgar or offensive so live and let live.
