  1. a beautifully crafted dress. nice leather jacket. amazingly sexy boots – but all together it just looks too much. And the whole ensemble could have been elevated to elegant if it was not so short.

more importantly, why can’t she walk naturally alongside and interact with her far more modest, but equally stylish, peers? Why does she need to walk in front of them and pose for the cameras? If her friends were camera shy they would have left separately or via a back entrance. This posturing looks like she has swallowed the DIVA pill. She loves the cameras. Loves them.

    1. Isn’t it vulgar to Flash your bra even though we all know she is not doing on purpose but still that’s like the 2nd time she shows off her underwear ,previous time one could see her white panties under that sheer golden short dress the one she wore for the tequila party or something that had to do also with Cindy’s book launch …but regardless the outfit she is wearing is so futuristic almost sci-fi ..I so mush wanted to like it but am not.. first it’s ill fitting as well as it looks like she’s wearing some kind of cellophane material ..Charlotte looks so radiant and feminine so perhaps she should take some free lessons from her since they are after all best buddies !!!

      1. Amal: I can’t believe that you are so attached to someone you do not know that you would be upset if the side of her bra showed. Why do you care so much? You don’t know her and to impute that she might be doing this intentionally is bizarre.

  2. Once again, Amal forgets that she is a 37-years old (almost 38) woman! At least since it is autumn and there is a chill in the air, she is wearing thights. I’m not saying that Amal should only wear long, ankle-length dresses and skirts, but, this outfit is too short and undignified for a woman her age. On the model, this dress looks cute because, she is a young woman, and she is not as thin as Amal!

    1. It is just your opinion and il is your right to not like it, but honestly….who cares ? Who are you to judge someone ? Someone perfect ? So, just say that you don’t like it, but don’t give lessons. It is really very boring !
      Just saying……

  3. This outfit would look awesome on Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevigne, but on a mature woman like Amal Clooney? No way! Amal is too old for a micro mini, hot pink coat and stiletto fringed boots. Pick the coat or the boots, but do not wear both! Had this dress been just above Amal’s knees, it would have been perfect, but as it is, it looks ridiculous on her!

  4. I don’t understand why Amal dresses as a teenager! The face does not match the body wearing these clothes. She is long past the age to wear a micro-mini. For such an educated woman, I am surprised to see it.

    1. Gabriella, great question.
It is not her husband. I think he doesn’t matter.
Her mother? No, she is too clever to sell this cheap look. She was responsible for these beautiful Oscar de la Renta and D&G dresses and this wonderful suit by Stella McCartney for the wedding.
I guess Ann Winter. Just speculation.

  5. This dress would be perfect on Amal’s niece, Mia (who is 13 going on 14). On Amal (who is on her late 30’s), this dress is too short!

  6. Amal’s stylist should be run out of the profession with a broom! The style advice that she is giving Amal is terrible! Amal is too mature to be wearing micro minis!

  7. I cannot believe the price of that dress! It is SO not worth it! It looks like something you could pick up in Zara! I LOVE the pink leather jacket/short coat, the bag is OK, the boots are great but not with that outfit. I usually admire Amal’s personal style, but in my opinion, this mish-mash of individually good items ends up looking like a dog’s dinner! Methinks The Lady doth Try-Too-Hard!

  8. I haven’t commented on here for quite a while but I would like to adress the pregnancy rumours: you can clearly see in these pictures and in the ones of the Charlotte Tilbury event that she’s not pregnant! Every once in a while I read some comments about a possible bump on this blog and to be honest, I feel kind of embarrassed for her. Isn’t it better to wait for an official announcement, if there is ever going to be one, instead of speculating about it? Or does everyone on here desperately want to see a Clooney baby? 🙂

    1. I agree. She is definitely not pregnant. I always wondered if George chose her in part because she didn’t want children – where as his last long term ex went on very quickly to have a child.

  9. I like everything except for the fact that she’s so bare on the bottom – even with the leggings, that dress seems uncomfortably short. If I were wearing that dress, I would pair it with a black knee-length pencil skirt underneath. In fact, I think that the outfit would then look even more spectacular (and it would also be warmer).

  10. The more People complaint the prices of Amal’s outfits, the more expensive they become..
I do not like the whole outfit at all. Just my opinion

  11. The Valentino dress looks perfect on the model in the photo because she’s not that tall so it looks just right on her but in the case of Amal’s long legs it just looks way too short, it even gives the impression that she’s wearing a regular cardigan on top of her black leggings ..,The color of the jacket doesn’t match that dress making the whole outfit look even worse ..I don’t get it ..Who came up with this look her or her stylist ? But regardless she didn’t score this time !

  12. Wow. A 14,000 dress. I dont know what I can say. I wonder if she buys all of these or gets them for free. That;s crazy. SHe looks cute though and I like she wore leggings with it- better than how model has it on.

  13. Geez….her price tag keeps going UP and UP and UP…and….
This dress is $15,000 dollars folks! Who places their value on wearing something for everyday at $15,000. Even “real” celebrities don ‘t even do that. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. I don’t understand the extreme desire for high end, haute couture, designer runway looks. She sure has a lot of money to “blow” on material! I have to be honest…1.5 years ago I thought she was going to be the ultimate humanitarian, down to earth, simple….boy was I wrong! Did George seriously know what he was getting himself into at popping the question at 5 months into knowing her??
I’m surprised she even wants to be this way or come across this way to the public by choosing to wear $40,000, and that’s not including “The Ring”. She knows the price and ID will be public knowledge. Why open yourself to let the world know you are all about the price tag and above every day people. It’s astonishing.

    1. I’m afraid I have to agree completely with Jaclyn! What a disappointment Amal has been! She had so much potential to be a moral force; instead, she has become a shallow clotheshorse. I used to check this blog in hopes of being uplifted by her work and style. Now it is like watching a human train wreck. As the months go by and she becomes ever more of a caricature, the hope that she can become something more begins to fade. What a shame.

      1. Janet: Why is Amal a disappointment to you? You do not even know her. Why do you care so much about what she chooses to wear and how much it costs?

    1. Jaclyn, I agree with everything you say. George sure is going trough his money with her, and she seems to love to show off so much, it shows how nouveau riche she is, no class whatsoever.

  15. Ah, I have been waiting for you to source this dress! How hideous, and $14,000!!!!! She must be out of her mind. I just wanted to let you know how much I admire your work here, even though I can’t stand Amal. You are the go-to source for her, and I hope she appreciates it!

  16. It is a short dress, but I have seen a few that she looks fine it. What I don’t like about this ensemble is the style if the dress cinching at the waist in proportion to the length of her legs. Everything looks off, and unattractive because of that. When she wears short dresses, they need to be sheaths. Personally I think she looks like she’s trying too hard when she wears them, and her image takes a nosedive because of that.

I’m not sure why they put a price tag like that on a dress like this…no one would pay that.

Nati, I do find the font size and “less of a bold” to the words hard to read on the new site. Can that be changed?

  17. This outfit and the the next outfit that Nati will post (CT’s Xmas Party) are clear cases of the Emperor’s New Clothes – someone tells you you look good wearing something silly, and you believe them.

Her vanity and consumerism is unbecoming.

  18. No, no the dress is not too short … AC only forgot her trousers 😉
Now seriously: She looks rather disproportioned.
Maybe her challenge is to have the shortest and most expensive dress…
But I love her boots, hair and makeup.

  19. Dear Nati,
I want to thank you for all the work you put into this blog! I´ve been following it very regularly from almost the very beginning and I´ve always enjoyed coming here.
I used to be a fan of Amal. I was hoping for an international female role model that would get all the attention other famous characters receive but would use it wisely – not for her own benefit but for the matter of human rights. Now about 15 months after the wedding I´m just extremely disappointed. Yes, she receives an incredible amount of attention. But most of the time she only seems to be using it for her own fame. The price tags keep rising and while some commentators seem to care whether she (or rather George) pay for it or whether designers just give it to her, I wonder what difference that makes. With all the attention she is receiving she´s become a role model – whether she wants to or not. Her pictures are everywhere on the Internet and in magazines seen by thousands of girls and young women. What´s the message of most of them, I wonder? Big hair, make-up and designer clothes that (this way or the other) she doesn´t need to work for? Is that it? Spend money. Look good. Live the life of a celebrity. Is that the message we want to send out these days? Aren´t the Kardashians taking enough care of this already?
While she seemed to be striking out in a very positive sense among the usual Hollywood celebrities in the beginning as a well-educated, cute lady, the only difference between her and most movie stars these days seems to be that her clothes, bags and mansions cost even more (while she probably didn´t have to earn the money to afford all this herself), that her style is impeccable 99.9% of the time and she really always flirts with the cameras (while some of the big stars prefer not to).
In a way it makes me really sad. Like you keep emphasizing, most parts of the world are facing dark times these days. There are so many issues to address, so many causes to support and myriads of ways and opportunities to do so. For all of us. And especially for those who have the media´s attention. Why not use it?
Of course I understand that we need to be grateful for the good, the funny and the beautiful in this world of which there is plenty of too and we should even focus on it more often, I believe. And the entertainment industry may be part of this. But a 15,000 Dollar dress?
I really hope you understand what I´m trying to say and that you keep doing your work as long as you and your followers enjoy it! I´ll be visiting this site less often in the future – certainly not because of the wonderful work and effort you put in! – but because I don´t enjoy watching Amal as much as I used to.
Kindest regards and a wonderful Christmas time to you, Nati!

    1. You summed up my feelings most eliquently. I too have to stop admiring amal. Even when she continued to do things against thr character they presented to us, i gave her the benefit of the doubt thay she wpuld settle into married life and focus on her career and new role but she has continued to display the worse qualities of celebritydom (materialistic, showy, unconscenably greed and disregard for the rest of the han race) what shocks me is that george thinks so highly of her even with yhis behavior. Hes known for being fown to earth, humbly and really into himanitarian work. How is he not bothered by his wife being the very same things he hated about politicians and celebrities. Aww well love is blind. I am terribly dissapointed. I know some will say she didnt pay for it but that doesnt change anything. The persona they presented her as would be appalled that people are spending this much on a dress when people cannot afford medications that are life sparing or vaccines for children. Truely disheartening!

    2. I completely agree. I have also stopped coming because I thought she was different. No difference from the others!
Not even Jacqueline Kennedy would have worn a 15,000.00 dress just to go out for dinner!
I hope Mr. Clooney doesn’t go bankrupt on her spending only, but on what he thought of her when he met her!

  20. Well this dress did me in. I cant follow amal anymore. This level of materialism is beyond excusable. I dont get how anyone with a conscience would justify wearing as much in clothes as tons of people earn per year. I followed this site originally because i was soo proud of her when she just presented, as an educated, kind, beautiful female that would be a great female alternative to the kardashians (sorry for the comparison, i hate putting women against each other). But i dont like celebrities because of their wasteful gluttonous ways , but amal has become the worst of them. As a humanitarian doctor i followed because i thought she was sooo into humanity etc but she has done very little in the name of humanitarian work instead parading around in ostentatious clothes that honestly i feel embarrassed to even be following because amal and kardashians etc are not the problem, the viewers/consumers are. So i am gonna have to find a new celeb interest as:
    1. She has no conscience nor awareness of whats going on in the world, nor seems to care hence appearing vacuous as the worse of celebrities
    2. No grown woman should wear skirts that short. She is wayy too flashy for my taste
    3. Basically she has nothing worth my admiration
Ps. nati you do amazing work please dont be offended by my comments im just in shock.

  21. The only thing I don’t like about this outfit is the length of the dress. For this ensemble to work the dress really needs to be at least two inches longer. Right now the proportions don’t work. There is too much space between the boots and the dress. BTW – the boots are killer.

As far as the prices go, I’m no longer shocked with what she spends. That said I am confident in saying she either gets these pieces for free or at a deep discount.

  22. I do not understand why so many people on this blog care how much Amal pays for her clothes. We each make decisions about what to buy and what to wear. Who are we to judge what other people buy and wear?

  23. I agree with everyone – the dress is too short on her. I actually don’t care it cost 15k and I don’t think she is too old to wear a short dress BUT I just don’t think it flatters her! It looks like she’s wearing something too small for her proportions. The boots and jacket don’t work with this either. My gut feel is she chose the outfit herself given it looks like she was just out socilaising with a friend rather than at and event. This outfit reminds me more of the quirky early days of Amal’s style!

  24. it’s just too short – uncomfortably short. Can anyone imagine being next to an adult wearing a dress this short and not feeling awkward to even be around them? Or EVER being able to take them seriously, no matter what sort of law degrees or arm candy for a husband they might have? It undermines any sort of professional aspirations she might have. If she wants to be a starlet, then, bravo.

  25. Nati, the price for the dress I’ve seen is 12,000 English pounds – that’s $18,000 USD – not really sure it makes very much difference though! When you get a chance I’d love to see info on the metallic outfit from the Tilbury party.

  26. I thought the same as Jayne” the face does not match the body wearing the clothes”. In my opinion she looks so classy and beautiful in outfits she often wears for work, eg the white Chanel suit, the white Gucci trouser suit, the red dresses, the black and white striped dress during the wedding celebrations. She knows how to dress beautifully but likes to experiment with looks better suited to a younger generation. However, if she feels good in what she is wearing that is the most important thing. Each to their own.

  27. In total agreement with what so many have said re this outfit; wish she’d take a lesson or two from Princess Mary or Kate Middleton and keep it classy. This is one of the worst things I’ve seen her in yet. It’s a shame she can’t seem to find her way –her fashion choices are all over the place.

  28. Wow… love this combination of colours! So what if her dress is short and she shows a couple more inches of leg covered in opague tights?

Also, I hate the way some people seem to think women should wear certain outfits at certain ages. She should wear whatever the *&^@ she wants 🙂

  29. Only a woman in her twenties could wear that outfit. Amal’s way too old and she looks silly in it. If she’s not careful she will be mutton dressed as lamb soon. She’s on the verge of it.

  30. Nati: I do not agree with you, and I hope that you publish my comment even if our opinions on Amal differ. Just because Amal is tall & thin does NOT mean that she can wear any fashion style and that it will suit her! This dress is simply too short for a woman who next February will turn 38-years old! This dress is not even stylish. The new “in” length for dresses and skirts for fall/winter 2015/2016 is a midi length (just hitting the shins of the legs.) Amal, who according to you so loves fashion, should be aware of this (and if not her, then her stylist should know!) Also Nati, you want to perpetuate this fantasy that before marrying George Clooney, Amal was used to dressing in exactly the same way she does now after becoming Mrs. Clooney! You know perfectly well that this is NOT true! Everyone knows it! One only has to google photos of Amal pre-George to see it! Before her marriage, Amal might wear a designer piece here and there, but she never dressed exclusively with the creations from high-end designers as she does now! Only after becoming Mrs. Clooney, has Amal become a worldwide celebrity whom designers constantly shower with their clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc. so she can parade around in them thus obtaining free publicity for the designers! I’m not criticizing Amal, if this is the way she wants to live her life, more power to her! What I do not like is this attempt by many (including you, Nati), to create a myth around Amal elevating her to the stratosphere, while diminishing George. Please remember, the Amal everyone is talking about now, would not exist without George Clooney! Nati, thank you in advance for letting me express my opinion in your blog.
