Amal and George Clooney arrived at Es Torrent restaurant in Ibiza for the Casamigos Tequila launching in Spain accompanied by Randy Gerber and Cindy Crawford.

Oh AMAL!! Why oh why??! The hair is STUNNING!!! The dress is so Paris Hilton! Save it for the bedroom!! Un-classy. What is happening to you????

Hi there, I wouldn’t say the dress is bad – it is very Ibiza! However, I do not know whether she wears heels – sandals would be fine. But:
Whenever she wears something short with heels I find her out of proportion: hair and face too big – legs too small (and I do not consider her too skinny) – it is just about proportion. And indeed she did a little bit about her hair. But not really surprising – just as her makeup – especially eyebrows – as usually always the same. Amal, pls show us yr “hidden” faces.

.. The fabric and the prints make the dress looks cheap , I think the oufit isn’t suitable for an elegant woman but Amal seems to love the design, she wore something similar when they celebrated Independence Day .
Stella McCartney : I’m surprised in a bad way , this friendship .

I like the hair! It’s a nice change. And again a Stella McCartney outfit. This seems to confirm the theory in an article I read, that Stella has made some sort of arrangement with Amal to provide her with clothes. I get why designers would want to do this but f.e. the pairing of Valli and Amal (back in New York) seems more logical than Stella and Amal. Stella is all about not using fur, certain types of wool, leather, no animal suffering and yet Amal has been seen wearing snakeskin on one occasion and she paired the beige ensemble in London with a leather bag and leather jacket. If it is indeed a publicity arrangement, than it seems pretty contradictory to Stella’s ethical views on fashion.

Love the hair! I do believe she has natural curl to her hair as well! Honestly I am so confused how she has time – time for work time for George time for family – time for all this travel. I think she’s fine wearing this dress – she doesn’t have to dress stuffy so I don’t think this dress is ok just for the bedroom she’s young and vibrant I like the look

Very skimpy outfit. She can still pull it off, but only just! I like the crimped hair, but I wish she would dress a little more lady-like considering her profession and causes, even when she is”off duty”.
How can you be taken seriously if you are half naked in the press one day and appearing in a robe and wig arguing international cases the next? Fair or not, I think it chips away at your credibility.

When I see the current situation of her clients I wouldn’t be partying …

Quite. Then again, her clients instruct her these days largely due to her profile – which she would not maintain without the ‘partying’. And therein lies the rub.

I do not think she is working, at least since January.
Even though she can work on-line and be the researcher-barrister, there are times were you have to be in office meetings, meeting with clients, etc.and she has been outside London since January. Maybe they don’t say it for pending cases.
I read something came up with the Assange case and she wasn’t mentioned.
I hope she is making the right decisions. Mr. Clooney’s relationships don’t last more than two years!
I have notice big changes in their relationship since they got to Como, i want to be wrong…….

She has worked since January – at least one court attendance (though I do not believe she addressed the court). I am fairly confident Amal is working, just not a great deal.

Psemsk, I think you really have a point here. I am a teacher and although I would love to dress like this, or I should say–wish I had the guts to, when I am “off duty”, I still would never dress “risky” or “questionable” in any way. I wouldn’t want to risk my credibility or have others perceive me in the wrong way. I dress conservative & classic & tailored at all times. On duty & off duty. I truly get the “credibility” status. Amal is in the spotlight anyway, so add anything that is “too short” too much skin, etc. and the media will be all over it as well as people questioning her credibility. Unfortunately, that’s the way the public views things. It’s hard to take her seriously because she has become so haute couture and high glam at all times. 🙂

I don’t like this dress at all!!! First of all it looks like a mess and on top it, it’s $3000?! (Originally $4000!). Yikes! Even if she doesn’t pay for it, I feel like she thinks expensive = beautiful which it clearly does not.

I agree a lot of women think expensive=pretty which is not true and Amal should know that
Now how her clients in jail in Egypt and Maldives etc to see her dressed like that ?! I don’t know but if I was in their place I wouldn’t feel secure or confident about my cause or future , would you guys?!

Perfect outfit for dinner in a “tropical” place. Between London and Ibiza, she has changed nail polish and crimped her hair. I love this outfit.

Not an age appropriate dress. (Actually…it looks more like a night gown) I could see a teenager or very early twenty year old in this one.
She’s rather delusional about how “good” she thinks those skinny legs look in short clothes.
(Her sister has great-healthy looking legs) Just my opinion.

Yes, I agree, for a change AND the occasion, nice beach-hair like, natural and sexy. Not the big blow out, which looks great otherwise, even if slightly fussy and overdone.
Has anyone noticed the ton-sur-ton highlights she got recently? It lightens up the mass of hair. Sure, volume is not bad, but with her slim figure, sometimes the head looks bigger than the body.

Style-wise, this is all becoming rather predictable. In New York, Amal was seen lunching with Giambattista Valli and wore most of GV’s collections for the season. Same thing happening here with Stella McCartney. When has it ever been stylish to essentially lift runway looks, largely from a single designer, and wear them ad nauseum? There is no taste there, this stuff would look good on anyone who was fairly tall and slim and beautiful (as Amal is). I have to seriously question her style credentials here. She had more style before she got married, tbh.

Amal’s people must be reading Nati’s blog & the posts about “changing up” her hair. Amal not only changed up her hair but, her make- up is different, too—smokey under the eye. George looks different, too—longer hair. Lots of Stella McCartney in Amal’s closet lately. 🙂

Amal painted on a very thick eyebrow this time, too. She’s looking less and less like an attorney and more and more like a socialite celebrity who wears very high end couture and only the latest runway looks. That’s okay, not criticizing her, just sayin’. 🙂
LikeLike
Agreed. Of course, we all knew that she wasn’t working much – anyone who knows a lawyer will tell you that Amal is barely working these days. Not a criticism either, she can do what she wants, but wish George would stop banging on about how amazing her professional life is. It is not.

With respect, one cannot sat that she is “barely working these days”. There are 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. The press gets hold of pictures once every few weeks – this time a weekend but usually an evening out. This is not unusual for many lawyers. They can work anywhere and everywhere, home, planes, trains and automobiles 🙂 Although some try not all of them work 24 hours a day 🙂
Would this analysis apply to a lawyer working in a small practice on routine family law or real estate law? No, it would not. But her work is very different. Seeing her out for dinner, spending time in Lake Como or spending a weekend with her husband tells us nothing about how she spends the rest of her time. In her area of expertise she can be working from anywhere in the world – by phone and internet. We don’t see her in court? Well, the vast majority of the work that would be done on files such as the ones she works on would be done behind the scenes.
I do not think it is accurate to conclude she is not working.
My two cents.

With great respect to you Ballycroy, whilst I agree that barrisywrs can work from anywhere, you seem to misunderstand Amal’s area of expertise and that of her Chambers. Amal’s area of expertise is public law, some crime, and some international law. The average barrister in this area would be in court fairly often. This is why Doughty Street’s pupillage scheme has a focus on oral advocacy and requires pupils to be on their feet in their second six. Amal has this far been in court once this year, and this is highly unusual for her particular area of law.
There are barristers who do largely paperwork and are in court rarely – they are generally to be found in chancery and competition sets (which is not Amal’s area of expertise). Thus I would say it is an accurate conclusion that she is working little, and the little she is doing is merely advisory. Advisory work is absolutely fine, but what ultimately distinguishes a barrister from a solicitor is that the former are advocates. And to advocate, and to improve, one must turn up and stand on ones own two feet before a Judge.

I actually love the dress – very Ibiza suited. I think she looks fab. The hair sadly was a big mis-step. I have never seen crimping look good! There was a reason it was an 80s fad! It should never be resurrected!

I love the waves in Amal’s hair. Nice change from her usual look. And the dress is lovely. Flowy, light, airy and perfect for a warm evening. Amal looks lovely. She is 37 and the length is very age appropriate. She is a young woman and she has nice slim legs.
I think what we can always expect from Amal is the unexpected. Can’t pigeonhole her style.

I don’t see any trouble with Amal’s choice for a sun-dress for this ocasion, It is so hot over there! Hair looks lovelly and matches the dress…don’t like the makeup somehow…lipstick too dark??
Now…again..another example of terrible designer’s choices in my humble opinion 🙂
Stella McCartney, can you please explain what is this confusing embroidery drawing on the middle of this dress?? I am confused!!?!!
A – Is it a buterfly in transition to become a mashroom?
B – or a mashroom cloud exploding from the guts?
C – Or is it an upset gut taking off on a balloon???
It had all the potential to be worthy of the almost 3K (?) you charge for it – pure silk, embroidery – but the “fishy business” going on this embroidery drawing (on gut area) would make me very hesitant to even consider this dress as a night-gown … only if i intended to scare away the milky man while husband is away ;P
Miss McCartney, i am not crazy for this dress, but i do appreciate your latest choices to protect the environment… i can see butterflies :)…and they are smilling:) ❤

Her dress is gorgeous, on trend and made of very luxe fabric choices. Her hair looks great. She is not a school teacher and is entitled to down time. However – she is flirting with a fine line in which her name is used to bring attention to a case but her skills don’t seem to be further engaged to finalise the case. You can’t have it both ways.
I don’t quite understand throwing all the years of hard work and building an intellectual career reputation away over a rapidly ageing actor???
George is looking a bit tired. Compare today’s photos to the wedding shots. She seems to be picking up her game and he seems to be letting his drop. He wears the same style of clothes over & over & over……. The t shirts and suede boots……….
She can wear whatever she likes, be papped wherever she likes but as an officer of the court she has to maintain a sense of dignity. Or all cases turn into a papparazzi feeding fest like the ICC where journo’s questioned her brand of garment rather than the actual merits of her client’s case.
I don’t quite get it
