Amal should have married someone like Liam Neeson, he is sooo protective of his dates and a sincerely lovely man. I fear Clooney is using Amal for PR purpose. Liam has done more than Clooney for charity, but does so quietly giving it quality time, as he does with his private life. And the bonus is he is more famous than George more revered than George and looks 10 years younger! He got more hits for his super bowl ad than Beyonce, Kim, and Katy Perry! Goes to show you don’t HAVE to parade your private life to be famous and loved by the fans.

Those are not the Spaniels she bought for G. in England. Those Spaniels were two orange/white in color. Where did these come from? Is that really Amal’s brother walking one of the dogs? Does he work for them? George has most certainly aged.

The black dog is Einstein. George adopted him from the shelter, around the time he got with Elisabetta Canalis. He has been walked by not only Amal, but Elisabetta and Stacy Keibler. Oh, if Einstein could talk, the secrets he could tell. hahaha…
But I bet George would have him put his paw print on a confidentiality agreement… to ‘muzzle’ him, so to speak. 🙂

@Lady…I had to laugh because this just shows how different we really all are. The shoes are my favorite part of the outfit. As a matter of fact, I love them so much I went to try to find them. I wonder if they will still be in style next fall…too late now to wear. I can find canvas ones for under $ 100.

Thanks for your support. 🙂 Believe it or not, I still have my old pair of black canvas Vans – the style is called “Old Skool.” They are super comfortable shoes and can even be worn as boat shoes. Canvas Vans have this coolness factor that no other shoes can have, in my opinion. Canvas Converse used to be “cool” back in the 90’s, and I used to own a pair, but they were never as comfortable. I still like the look, though, and hipsters everywhere seem to love them. Black biker boots – authentic ones, that is – are still very edgy – too edgy even for hipsters. Oh, and of course, who wouldn’t be a woman of the ’90’s without a pair of Dr. Martens? Still have my old pair, made in England, and they are probably some of the most comfortable shoes I own…. I think all of those shoe options would have gone quite nicely with this outfit.

I love Amal and I mean this in no disrespect , but…. Sorry, I am not a fan of the biker chic look. Ripped jeans should only be worn if you’re 18 or under. They also take away from her professionalism , even if she’s not headed to work . If you ran into your doctor on the weekend dressed in this outfit, I guarantee your impression of their skills as a physician would be diminished. Someone like Kate Middleton or Jackie O would never be caught wearing ripped jeans .The upper half of the outfit is cute, but in my opinion , the ripped jeans and biker sneakers need to go If she expects to be taken seriously as a reputable attorney, off duty or not…

Despite her career, and the fact that she is married to a famous actor, she is a normal person. Why compare her to a first lady and the Duchess of Cambridge, who have completely different dressing requirements for public appearances? And clearly, she has no trouble being taken seriously.

To some extent, I agree with you. Being her age, and also being a professional woman, it can get very tiresome to always dress nicely for work, though. I find it liberating to relax in clothing that allows one to reminisce about one’s younger self. That said, I probably wouldn’t advertise my afterhours look to anyone at work. Mostly because I work around a bunch of old men who would see it as a sign of my youth (and therefore act even more patronizingly toward me, behavior which I can’t stand).
I hate to say it, but the age difference between Amal and George becomes even more apparent when she dresses like this.

The black dog is one that George rescued years ago. The other dogs were reported but there have never been any pictures of them just rumors . I think maybe this one may be the dog she gave George.

Thank god she looks normal– although I don’t necessarily love the outfit, I have to say this is the best she’s looked in a while. I love the jacket but I think the shirt should have been plain (a solid white tee) and maybe just black boots instead of the wedge sneakers. But I’m just glad it’s not one of those head-to-toe designer looks she’s been sporting of late so I’ll take it!

I love her style, but she is sooooo skinny…. I don’t mean to be offensive, but it just doesn’t look healthy. And the camera is supposed to add 10 pounds, can’t imagine how skinny she must look in person. I wonder if it’s natural of if the Hollywood pressure got to her. She definitely did not look this thin in the first pictures that emerged of her and George (redd dress, grey coat). Oh well, she is still a very beautiful woman.

I think Amal is just like that, born this way, her genetics is to be skinny, i have seem many people like that, no matter what they eat, they are lean, bonny. I am not sure about their relationsship. Somehow they look very distant in each pic. Except at their marriage, there is no pic where they look to each other. I know that the pics aren’t made in intimate situations, but if I wouldn’t know I never would assume that these is a couple in love.
About her style: personally I don’t like these kind of jeans. I often have the impression that Amal wears things 10 years too late: the super short skirts, the damaged jeans. This is fashion for girls in their early twenties.
I would like to see her more feminine, more adult.

Loredana, I too believe everything they do is staged. They may really love each other, but I believe George stages all the photos we see. He has full control over when and what we see. Despite his relaxed and calm exterior, I have no doubt he is very much directing and producing the images provided to the world. The cousin, the dogs, right down to Amal’s previously worn shoes, it’s a staged production. And I do believe George’s people and Amal’s mother’s people are reading your blog Nati to get a feel for what the public is thinking and responding to. George has also had many movie flops – this is all to create interest in him again. He is an old man on the wane – this is all to engender interest in him and market him to the people – I have no doubt he will play the hero in this movie – this couple has another project in mind (politics?) and this is all just chess manoeuvring for them.

She has amazing taste in chothing (except for the ripped jeans – too teenaged). She’s a real beauty – she looks even better without make-up. The dogs are ridiculously cute as well. I should work out more… sigh.

Hahaha!! I love your ‘sigh’!!! Stay as you are Anastasia – it’s the balance in life that counts!! Amal does everything obsessively and with perfection – she must have very high standards to live by and is very self-absorbed, and controlling over what she wears, eats, weighs, who she sees, what projects she takes on etc etc. She reminds me of those poor girls with eating disorders (I’m not saying she has one) who feel the need to be the best at everything and pursue perfection to their own detriment as they can never please the one person that matters – themselves. Stay as you are Anastasia – I think even Amal must find it hard being Amal on some days!! I can confirm it takes 2-4 hours of repetitive mind numbing exercise per day to have the sinewy muscle look Amal has recently gone for on her legs. Most of us would give up! Amal has taken it to an extreme. She was softer, prettier and more feminine pre-George.

Because I know about muscle, body fat, exercise, caloric intake, workouts etc and people’s bodies all work the same. You don’t just wake up with a body like Amal’s. That takes hard work and dedication. Good on her, but it is an extreme of ‘healthiness’.

I am so interested in everyone’s comments on the ripped jeans. Perhaps it is a cultural association thing as I am not I in the US or UK. I think they look great on Amal and I just love the total outfit very much. And btw I wear ripped jeans too and I am older than she! It’s the total look that matters and Amal has totally cracked it. She looks fabulous in my view!

I love the whole look except the jeans…! I think they are unflattering…make her legs look too skinny and the ripped hole look is a not trashy – not feeling it works with her perfectly groomed hair and glam sunnies. But I’m glad she is wearing some stuff that is non couture for once!

I agree with you, Morna, about the faux ripped jeans – they usually seem to indicate that the person is trying too hard to look “edgy.” Back in the ’90’s (and I’m the same age as Amal), I wore jeans that were ripped from wear and tear, and they were really cool. I can’t imagine buying pre-ripped jeans. I even shy away from buying “faded” and “stone-wash,” and prefer ultra dark denim. Another thing I can’t stand is that most jeans today aren’t 100% cotton. The elastane (or, in the case of the jeans shown here, polyurethane) in everything is just ridiculous. It seems like the material is thinner, as well, and tends to break down much faster (read: cheap fabric).

I have to agree…i am not so big on ripped jeans, not because of age but because they annoy my senses haha, especially if they are right on the knee cap, makes me look i just had an accident and broke my legs in half hahaha (ok i digress! ) it looks funny to be broken in the middle or something…. but i like the overall assembling.

Amals clothes have nothing to do with her intelligence . When she goes to court she dresses appropriately when on her free time she dresses the way she pleases. I don’t think clothes have anything to do with how someone does their job. If her clothes were such a problem she would not have or get the cases she gets.

I agree with your first three sentences aw. The fourth sentence is flawed.
Her clothes create publicity and there would be many cases that do not seek that publicity and hence would avoid “hiring her”. There would be other cases that “hire her” solely for the publicity she generates (again through her clothes).
There may of course be cases that hire her for her intelligence/expertise – but as she is still a junior lawyer, and as she is always part of larger, more experienced team, and as she has never run a case on her own yet, it would be hard to tell.

I actually like her too Nati, for the same reasons as you, she is imperfect and ironically, therein lies the perfection in Amal obtaining celebrity status. I think it’s sensible to be able to look at celebrities and celebrate their fame without rose coloured glasses. It’s healthy for them – and for the public. Especially for young girls who cannot as yet decide between what is real and attainable and replicable —- and what is good publicity, agenda-driven and accessible only by the rich and famous. She is in the public’s eye and should be subjected to intelligent and critical commentary. Anything less would not be appropriate for a woman with her role.

That’s one of reasons I like Amal. She is obviously intelligent and dresses how she wants to – not according how society might expect her too. Look at Tsipiris and Varoufakis, men who don’t conform to male dress codes, and are praised for not wearing ties to meetings with heads of states. Can’t women be equally adventuous?

I have a similar version of her shoes (with a lower wedge) and they’re pretty comfortable. What I like about her style is that she can look really classy and elegant but she also likes to wear more casual clothes, like a leather jacket and ripped jeans. The fact that they have cocker spaniels make me like this couple even more! I love this breed!

I like the whole outfit. This look is one we saw more of before she married and moved onto designers like GV. Torn and worn jeans are no longer associated with long wear or anything practical, they are a form of decoration like frayed hems etc . Whether you like them or not is a matter of personal taste. I think Amal looks amazing in this outfit.

Since she does not work a lone it would seem her bosses give her the cases , that would mean they have no problem with how she dresses. She is always dressed appropriately for work.
