  1. To try and put this as kindly as I can, I do not think Mrs. Clooney is wearing or carrying anything that is flattering to her (or anyone else, for that matter, with the exception of the clutch).

    1. I agree. I cannot imagine anyone looking good in that outfit. Boxy, shapeless and shortens the legs. The shoes don’t go with it at all.

Her hair looks fabulous and even fuller than usual.

      1. I wasn’t going to comment, until I read both of your comments. I absolutely agree. In fact, my initial reaction was, “well, I like the clutch and possibly the earrings.”

      2. Also, maybe I like the coat, too. Hard to tell, though, as we don’t know what it looks like on.

      3. That is probably the worst outfit I have ever seen on her, I particularly dislike the shoes, which don’t match at all. Oh well, she is still gorgeous and elegant. Everybody is entitled to a bad day!

      4. Well, fine , I’ll Put my two cents worth in as well ! The outfit is very boxy and only someone as thin as she could possibly get away with wearing it. Nonetheless, it makes her look short waisted and not as flattering as other outfits I’ve seen her in. Wish I could see her in an outfit more than once though. She must have one massively sized closet at the Carlysle, unless she’s returning the stuff back to the designers and only wearing these outfits as their muse because there’s no other way to fathom having space for all these clothes, especially since when she travels, she only has one rolling piece of luggage with her.

    2. i actually like the clutch…. i can do that clutch:-) what i cannot do is this strong makeup, it looks she has changed blush….halleluiah for these shoes! hahaha..oh vanity,,, leave me… leave me alone:)

Too cold for that outfit that night.

She needs to tone it down. By ‘it’ I mean ‘everything’.

    4. Oh, and by the way, what happened to George? He looks dead behind the eyes. Like his joy and
youthfulness have been sucked from him overnight. Amal on the other hand, seems to be flourishing. Go figure.

  3. After knowing her social skill which showed a lack of consideration toward the NYC chef, who was a full of joy after his completed life time devoted cook book..

I m not even impressed about her fashion sense, her career, and more..

    1. I don’t think we should jump to conclusions about that . I doubt she said it in that manner. I think what probably happened was that George was given the book and when he handed it to her, she jokingly commented to him that ” I don’t cook.” No woman is stupid enough to turn down a gift in someone’s face , especially in front of your new mother in law!

    1. Fabulous and flawless hair. Definitely she lives in another season and I’m not talking about Valli pre fall 2015! 🙂 White suit, sandals, sleeveless… I wonder if she uses thermal underwear 🙂

    2. Maybe she is hyperthyroid : super thin, never cold ( as evidenced by her lack of warm clothing in frigid weather ) , eyes sometimes a bit bulging ( exophthalmos ).

  4. What was said in the restaurant was over heard and probably taken out of context, they are married and I do believe she said it in a joking manner nothing to hurt anyone’s feelings. The book was given to George as his mother had eaten there when she was pregnant with him. I think sometimes we need to not believe everything that is reported based on what was said they are married and obviously joke with each other. I don’t see Amal ever being rude to anyone George would never put up with that and I’m sure she was raised better than that.

  5. Walking billboards. It’s called stealth marketing. Actors get paid for promoting products, even books. Notice how George is holding the book…so the title is clearly displayed.

    Like

    1. I doubt that he is paid to market Harold’s book but he is very obviously promoting it in these photos. More of a ‘people pleasing’ thing, I think. It translates into social capital for him – ‘invite me round and you’ll get a lot of benefits’. Amal now has a similar thing going with fashion, although a bit more subtle.

His tequila marketing is even more obvious – remember those pictures of George, Amal, Cindy and Rande at the beach with the guys’ tequila label prominently displayed?

  6. Can’t believe how old George looks in some of these photos. Perhaps it’s just in comparison to Amal’s youthful vibrancy.

      1. George has REALLY aged in the past 7 months! Wow! It will be interesting to see if Amal sticks around for the long term. She’s gone from barrister to Hollywood Haute Couture in 2.5 seconds !!!

      2. Sorry Rose – he is only 1 generation older and the other girls were even younger than his wife. He does not look that happy. It must be boring to wait hours and hours of your partner, while she is getting dressed up etc. and after all that waiting she is hardly able to walk quickly on these high heels. His mom – approximately 75 years old – ran in comparison to the others, because her shoes were confortable.

  9. am i the only one to LOVE this outfit?? I do! i do!! Love the outfit shoes, etc.. and even the clutch. WAY BETTER THAN FUR AMAL!!! However… i think she may have changed makeup brand? This tone is too dark for her complexion. Too strong and dark. It nice to see George updated from his sacred jeans but i would smile huge when i see him wear a bit lighter colors, not always so black and gray. About the weather: i gave up on hoping that Amal would adjust her weather choices. The woman is a “cold blood”. She does not get cold that easy. Ahhh those shoes!!!! having me go bananas for it!

Nati…any ID on the jumpsuit? Thank you for your great work Nati!!

  11. Stay real Amal! You are much more beautiful when you are genuine. It is very cold in New York City and you are wearing a sleeveless outfit and sandals. You are starting to focus too much on publicity … makes you artificial.

    1. Good morning,
I think there is nothing wrong with the seem of Georges trowsers. It is the book behind his right leg.

Is it true, that she goes outside in this outfit at temperatures of -3 degrees Celsius? Very strange.
Ok she can wear what she wants, she always looks very beautiful, but unfortunately now she is starting to exerggerate with these last very strange outfits just in order to stand out.

George C. looks quite old since he is married. A shame.

And now I want to thank you very much Nati for your excellent work. Since the wedding I follow your block, which is very entertaining to me.
How come that you are able to write German, Italian etc.?

  13. I think Amal is beginning to lose her very own style sense, quite frankly. By this, I mean she is probably willing to wear all these “offered” clothing styles for these designers to bring attention to their platform, while losing her own. There’s nothing about the outfit, head to toe, that compliments her. She is beginning to “scream” the image of pretentious, the image of opportunist. It’s almost as if she has a “checklist” before exiting the building…$5,000 dollar outfit. Check. $2,500 shoes. Check. $1,800 handbag/clutch. Check. $12,000 earrings. Check. $4,200 dollar Large coat/wrap/shawl. Check. High volume Hollywood hair. Check. Professional makeup. Check. When George married Amal, the media tried to portray his 2 former girlfriends, Stacy Keibler & Elisabetta Canalis as “bimbos”, uneducated, unintelligent women. The fact of the matter is they are very down to earth, humble, and bright women. They were not pretentious, not opportunists. They were classy and elegant. Their style and personality were very much like Rande & Cindy Crawford, and like George. Sure hope George doesn’t get hurt with this gal. After all, 5 months (from the time met to engaged), sure isn’t very long to know someone when you are worth millions. They met, dated, got engaged, planned a wedding, married all in 11 months. Just sayin.

  14. In addition, who wears an outfit like that in NYC, which was 19* last night? She appears to be dressing for the designers instead of for herself. Publicity for them…FREE clothes for her. Win Win. Being married to George brings big perks: designers, special job assignments at Columbia University, access to top knotch restaurants & clubs, private meetings, lunches with editors, designers. It’s beginning to send a message of where her priorities, values, and interests lie. Perhaps. This all remains to be seen. However, I do feel if she maintains this behavior….she might go from being a very likeable to a Not likeable public figure. She is beginning to come across as superficial, self-absorbed, and pretentious. There is a comment made by Amal some time ago that has always stood out in my mind that was a bit foretelling and questionable of “who she might be”. When asked about charities that she & her husband might support….she responded somewhat arrogantly, abrupt, and snooty….she replied, “it is up to my husband to what charities he supports!” I remember thinking at the time, “whoa, she just put that person in their place! Abruptly!” Time will tell what her real motives are, what her true style & personality represents, and then some.

I know she’s a busy gal, shopping and dressing, and hairdressing and botoxing and papping and restauranting and all, but has she worked in the past month – did Amal go to Egypt to free the Canadian journalist like she publicised she would? Did I miss it? After her ballsy public letter criticising all and sundry, I was expecting international fireworks from our flashy friend. What happened?

  17. So far, I really enjoyed watching this beautiful and smart woman. I did wonder however why would such an attractive woman with a potential great career ahead of her would marry a very unattractive old actor. I also thought on what the potential side effects are on her carer, I suspect you lose credibility and respect when instead of dedicating your time to causes you believe in you waste it by styling yourself to perfection every time you get our of the house. These, however could just be my own personal view, at the end of the day plenty of women sacrifice their career for men in more abrupt ways than going to live a careless life. We all have our reasons for wasting time following other’s people lives, and I really enjoyed seeing a smart woman in the spotlight. Secondly, I believe in true love and as a result enjoy looking at any instances that reinforce my beliefs. I can’t really put my finger on what triggered this, but recently every time I look at her photos I feel disbelief and definitely not admiration anymore. Of course, the obvious response to this would be ‘just stop looking at this blog’, which I will most definitely do, but I was curious if I am the only one experiencing this.

    1. Hallo Mara I,
I agree to a lot, what you wrote, but be honest, do you really think, George C. is ugly?
Everywhere you read that millions of women adore him and that he belongs to the most attractive men in the world. In addition to this he is very successful and it is said that his fortune amounts approxitematly to 150 millions USD. People who like such expensive outfits like Amal need a lot of money. Otherwise you cannot dress up differently every day and spend 3.000 Dollars at least for designer clothes for one visit to a restaurant without considering hairdresser, make up etc. etc. She always looks like going to something like an oscar night.

I hope that Nati will profit for all her excellent work that brought so much fun to us.

      1. Phvdh, you are correct. Indeed, George is a good looking handsome man. He’s always a gentleman. What makes George super attractive to all is his consistent humble & down to earth guy. His parents & sister are humble as well. He grew up in eastern Kentucky where his dad was a news anchor in Cincinnati, Ohio. A very humble, friendly, and down to earth family. This is what makes George very appealing. Anyone connected to him (friends, wife. girlfriend, parents, business partner, etc.) in his circle is automatically endorsed. Everyone loves George. He’s a good catch & everyone knows this…including Amal. They are about 15 years apart in age.

    2. Yes, I am experiencing something similar.
I fell madly in love with this couple because I still believe in love. After the ‘running around years’ of George Clooney, one day we wake up to the news that he is engaged to be married! I kept telling myself ‘That must be real love. Love is still alive and well.! His look changed, his formality, he was so protective of her! And she looked so professional and smart! Much more than him. Her clothes were her, she and her personality. A career woman with great taste for clothes! She even looked younger! She was polite to photographers but keeping her distance. No wonder he fell for her, she was so non-Hollywood!
But…….., yes I’ve seen some changes. She doesn’t leave the house without Giambattista Valli’s advice. So non-her, I thought! I think he is using her, bet his sales have gone up! George knows how celebrities can be used, yet either he is not aware or permitting it. She has gone as far as wearing non-winter clothes in the coldest NY winter. And those short skirts!
What happened to her propriety? As somebody here said she will loose credibility in her career. Pity……
I fear for this couple. Two different worlds came together, that is hard enough to work at. But if she turns someplace else…I hope not.
There was a similar case in Hollywood 20 yrs. ago :Warren Beatty.
The playboy married Annette Benning, because even thou she is an actress, she was so non-hollywood. They are still together (20 yrs.)
I hope the best for George. After waiting so long!!!

    3. Firstly, maybe she fell in love with the old man!!! Secondly, who says you can’t have it all; style , success , beauty and a husband . My one and only qualm with her is that when in the public eye, she should appear humble , and down to earth. I know she is, but has just gotten caught up with the hoopla and superficiality of Hollywood and needs to return to the elegant , smart and humble lady George fell in love with.

Nati, you are awesome! I can only imagine how much time this blog takes from your daily life and I’m sure I speak for all of those who read this blog regularly, by saying Thank You for your hard work!

      1. Jesus Masreya!! The “old man” ??? Are you serious??? An old man is someone on their nighties, not 53, come on now!!! With that mind set you will find yourself miserable at 53, and that is really unfortunate because at 53 at today’s life style and standards, one is not old, one is starting to live! Before that it is just research.

I hope you get yours right before you hit that age Masreya!

    1. Well said Vero! Besides, when you look at the video, it happens so very fast!! The photographers have incredible fast shutter speed cameras that flashes 20+ pictures per click, so the results are a picture of every split of second, making it look eternal, when in fact it is super fast! That is why Amal always seems to be posing for the cameras on these still pictures, but if you watch the videos she barely look at the paparazzi, she is quick to go inside wherever she is heading to. That is the magic of paparazzi photography; they have powerful cameras!

    2. Vero, I deliberately scrolled through all the past posts to find this as it really struck me, that as her relative, you will blindly defend their every action and raise this couple above reproach in absolutely everything they do. There are very many intelligent people in this world and many intelligent women posting here – do not insult our intelligence with silly excuses for George’s clearly selfish behaviours. Look at the recent article Nati posted from the NYTimes which clearly says George ASKED for the book to specifically USE the paps.

Stop insulting all the bright people here on Nati’s blog. Amal is not the only person with intelligence. She married an uneducated, unattractive old man who uses the world as his personal money making machine. Let’s get over the hero worshipping – she and George are as flawed as the rest of us, if not more.

  21. how dare Amal take a shower, blow dry her hair, wear clothes (gifted or purchased), wear a pair of earrings and a ring, put makeup on, and wear perfume before going out. how dare she? WHO DOES THAT? I’ve never seen someone do all these things before going out. how can she find the time to meet friends and family, go shopping, go out for dinner, attend social events, watch TV, eat, drink, sleep, and most importantly…… use the bathroom when she has such a high profile job. I have not seen any lawyer who does those things. This woman is unbelievable. She’s a criminal and an insult to humanity. Tar and feather her now!!

  23. Not everything Amal does for work is publicized I am sure she still works. We are not privy to her work and I am sure she likes it that way. As for her college position George had nothing to do with her getting that she has lectured at several colleges. I think to assume she is not doing her job is ridiculous we see her maybe once or twice a week . She and George obviously work their schedules so that they can be together as much as possible .When she is in London we really don’t see her so we have no idea when she is there.

    1. don’t even bother “aw”…. don’t even bother. people’s criticism, negatively, mental illness, insecurity, boredom, hatred, or whatever reason they give to justify their words and judgments sucked all the fun out of this blog. it’s as if i’m reading a second version of the DailyMail comment section. i just really hope all these people get famous one day for whatever reason, so that they can get a taste of their own venom. it’s so ridiculous how they sit in their bubbles and assume things about the lives of two people who they don’t even know or haven’t ever met.
what happened to this blog? it used to be such a fun and classy one. what a shame 😦
Amal’s style has not changed. she used to wear quirky and flashy outfits from the beginning. that was and still is her style. she used to wear ripped jeans and still is. she used to wear expensive and unique shoes and still is. she used to wear animal skin and fur and still is. she smiled to the camera when she first ever encountered the paparazzi and she still smiles. she used to work on cases, write books, and lecture and she still does all these things. she used to attend social events, even ones related to fashion like the Eco-Fair event in 2013, which Nati made a post about it, and she still does. maybe the only difference is that fashion designers saw the interest in what Amal wears and saw that she has the same effect as other public figures in regard to what she wears and sought her to promote their cloths. She still chooses what she likes. It’s not like she is forced to wear certain outfits. i don’t like the fact that although these people are rich. they still get freebies, while us the not so wealthy people have to buy our own. but this is life and this is business. and if i was a fashion designer, i would probably do the same thing.

      1. I don’t agree with your harsh assesment, all of us here started looking at the blog simply because we were big fans of Amal, wether it was for her style, beauty, career or all of them. On the other hand, I do reserve my right to express my doubts when they arise (wearing a Je suis Charlie pin while her native country has more Syrian refugees than ever (and other two very bloody wars are happening in the world), wearing very expensive clothes in her position as a human rights lawyer). Maybe it is just my very narrow view, but I’ve been blessed enough to be able to afford those clothes and still don’t have any intention to spend money on them, since I can think of better uses. And what better place to express your thoughts that in front of a more ‘sophisticated’ audience that will never post ‘omg she looks like a horse’ in the comments section?

Well put Clara! The low-lives cant stand the fact that she shoves on their faces their own lack of self confidence and self esteem. They criticism her so unfairly because they do that to themselves already, so imagine the trip on their minds!

  24. Some of you are so harsh. If a man had it all going on like Amal, he would be celebrated and praised. She is smart, stylish, poised and sophisticated. Of course she now has access to better clothes and probably a stylist. Any of us would die to have one and access to designer clothes. It’s every woman’s dream. Good on her. She’s now a public figure so she’s much more aware of how she appears in the press.

I love the entire outfit with the exception of the shoes. It’s unique like her. Her purse and earrings are stunning. I think she put some hair extensions in her hair – it much fuller than usual.

  25. It seems that George is criticized on this blog almost as much as Amal, donnie, so I’m not sure that people are being too harsh about her just because she is a woman. I wish we could just avoid some of the stereotypes, like that having a stylist and a closet bursting with shoes and clothes is every woman’s dream. I certainly hope that women dream about other things more than fashion. I also think that the stereotype that if someone is super thin and tall she is automatically beautiful and can wear anything is not true. Amal looks great in a lot of things, but these past two outfits have not flattered her body type at all. The chevron trousers and cropped fur top made her look totally shapeless. Amal has a long torso in proportion to the length of her legs and this white jumpsuit makes her look even longer-waisted and shortens her legs even more. I don’t say this to criticize Amal as much as to try to dispel some of these unhealthy stereotypes.

  26. Of course, this woman has every right to dress however she wants, do whatever she wants, etc. No one is suggesting otherwise. if you dislike the message, please don’t hate the messenger.

All we are saying is the once demure Amal has turned into a posing, camera-loving walking billboard with very camera-hungry eyes. Initially she showed restraint. Now she is the “star” of the photo. Most likely, this will make George very uncomfortable and will seem a threat to his fragile, actor-ego self…he is not that confident with himself (read his own comments about his performance in Monuments Men). Notice her behavior at the award show…she wasn’t really listening to George until she became aware of the camera. He always seems to be pulling (not leading) her along….very telling.

Many of us have watched this story play out with other couples…we are very aware that only one can be the star; otherwise, it ends in unhappiness or, worse, disaster. Think of Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, Princess Diana and Charles, Grace Kelley left the movies, Jackie O butted heads with both husbands, etc. This now appears to be a rerun…It isn’t very interesting.

    1. Have you ever heard of positive thinking? Or collective negativity? We all must exercise that in our now minds, because we all contribute to all events. It is only a choice in the mind, to think positively or negatively, only a switch, but with incredible consequences.

      1. Thank you for your suggestion. I did Google collective negativity and found a great site: http://www.collective-evolution.com/2014/12/21/how-to-respond-to-negative-people-without-being-negative/

Do we really need polarity on here? Can we all agree that these are just our own observations — without judgement, without proving right or wrong ? Just observations,,,,nothing more. Show 10 people the same painting and there will be 10 different opinions about it. None are right, none are wrong….they just are personal opinions and it is ok to disagree.

        Peace to all.

      2. Jane , one thing is to have a different opinion, but that is not the case of some here. One can visibly see the hater intent on some comments. When someone says for example, that the people that are not haters dont have the gust to say loudly that Amal looks like a horse… that right there is not someone who should be venting their opinion, because that is not a valid opinion, it is just trash coming from a troll’s mind. An opinion is something that genuinely reflect an honest point of view without the intent to bash, put down, bully , etc… Amal certainly DOENS’T look ;like a horse and any attempt to suggest that is devious, evil and should not be awarded in this blog. If i this was my blog i would never allow any such comments. And i couldn’t careless if i would not please everyone. Trolls are just trolls and very unhappy individuals. They have a hard time finding goodness on anything.

  27. Did she go to Egypt? She publicised her letter saying she would go back in Feb. Have I missed it?

No, this is not the same Amal. The simplicity and elegance of her previous presentation has gone. Let’s forget the clothes and shoes for a moment, and focus on the basics – the hair and makeup – it has changed and the rest builds up from there. I think what people are saying is that we were all curious to see how an intelligent professional would handle themselves when thrust into the limelight and we are all monitoring her based on what we think we would be like had we also been given this “life opportunity”. I agree with the comments above, she has taken a particular route that seems to suit her personality but that is not in keeping with what we expected.

    1. Than DONT expect so much!! Why doe we feel the need to demand, to expect so much from others that we dont even know?? Lets just focus on the little that is given by some very fast pictures and not build a whole case from it. The deception that we build on come from our own in-satisfactions and limitations within ourselves and not from Amal! She is in her journey and not focusing on what others will demand from her. Perhaps because she is smart enough to know that she will never please everyone and no matter what role model we may choose for her, she may never fulfill it, and it would never please all. People in general only see what is inside therm. Judgment towards others always come from within ourselves . Amen!

She has now a celebrity status that is the difference and she has to deal with it everyday. Amal and George are the most amazing couple currently for me. Doesn’t matter what people are thinking he loves her and protect her. That is the most important thing.

  28. …since this is my last post on this blog…one more thing:

Every woman was born to be a goddess. it is our birthright. But unfortunately we have forgotten that gift long time ago and it is very unsettling and uncomfortable to see someone (like Amal) exercising it. But suppose for just a second, that the entire world had much abundance; foods and riches and all was just so abundant. How many of us would dare to dress up on gold/diamonds from head to toe? I understand that the world is not like that and it is valid and great to be humanitarian, compassionate and all, but, my point is, would most of us exercise that goddess within if we could? Do we value ourselves enough? Do we see ourselves as a goddess in the best sens of the word? One to rise up and take her place and be just an…Almighty Woman?

Lets elevate ladies! Lets tap on that birthright, even if most of us can’t afford such expensive attires… we can perhaps afford a beautiful fresh and vivid flower bouquet to yourselves? How many of us buy flowers for ourselves, just because? In my humble opinion, Amal is just exercising her goddess womanly right. It is up for grabs for all of us, get yours too:)

But remember this: it is NOT just in the attires….it is in the mind and how one feels within.

    – kisses on our goddesses hearts:)

    1. please Milli don’t let the very judgmental commenters discourage you from visiting and commenting on this blog. This blog is dedicated to Amal, and it would make more sense if the people that like Amal are the ones who are visiting it and commenting on the posts, not the ones that seem displeased with her. i guess you will always meet people with different opinions and view of points. but that should not discourage you from expressing your own opinion. And just because the majority of the comments are negative, that doesn’t mean that the majority hates her. there are many people that visit the blog, but don’t comment, and i think many of them read the negative comments and roll their eyes. I know this because i was one of them 🙂 the ones that are judging Amal don’t have a solid base for their criticism because, as Nati said, Amal loved fashion and had an expensive taste in clothes long before she became famous. that was who she was and is now. if anything, she actually didn’t change, and one can argue that that is not benefiting her now that she is in the public eye. but at least she’s staying true to herself and not pretending to be someone she isn’t just for the sake of her image. this fact is what made me respect her and is what I found refreshing. As for her work, last time I checked she was still working and she’s not slowing down. so I don’t get what people are complaining about.

  29. First, kudos to nati for this terrific site about a very stylish, intelligent and intriguing woman. Amal Clooney.

The commenters here who support Amal and George I have no issue with. The bulk of the comments here are pretty negative and incredibly judgemental. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion of Amal but know what you’re talking about before you comment on a public blog. “She has changed”. How do you know that? Because she is wearing more designer clothes. More make-up . She looks at the camera more often. And she smiles for the camera. OMG. Give me a break. If you don’t like what you think she’s become then why do you continue to visit this blog and comment here. To say so many negatives things about a woman you don’t know, never met, never heard her have a full fledged conversation or seen at work. I don’t have much respect for those who talk in a derogatory way about others who they don’t even know. And appearances alone do not tell the story of who a person is. The negativity here is really unfortunate. When I first started visiting this site I was really impressed with the upbeat and positive comments about a woman so many were in awe of. It has certainly changed here. And those of you who will respond that it’s Amal who has changed you truly don’t know what you’re talking about. But sadly I think you just enjoy trashing her, and you can do it so easily because you can do it anonymously without facing her.
    Very sad.

  30. Everyone……Many of you are are basing your opinion of what Amal ‘was’ before she married GC from a few photos you saw in magazines or online. Come on. None of us know who this woman was or is. All I know is that she has captivated many of us with her intelligence and style. I for one love her style. Some things she wears are great and other things are not to my liking. That is what PERSONAL STYLE is all about. I personally don’t care for cookie cutter style. To say she looks like a horse – well I think horses are gorgeous creatures. They are strong, elegant and majestic.

She is still finding her way in this new life of hers. Personally I’m happy to tag along to see where she takes us. Go Amal!!!!!

  31. There will always be those who hate Amal for simply marrying George. Amal is simply being herself and enjoying her life with the man she loves and who loves her. No one here can say she has changed because none of us know her . She likes clothes and can afford the best which i’m sure her husband does not mind. Its nice to see a woman with her own style and not styled by a stylists. Like her style or not it is definitely hers.

  32. I like this outfit. Someone above said she has a long torso in comparison to her legs. I respectfully disagree. She and I are the same height. I know the difference because I have a long torso compared to my legs and have learned I cannot wear capris. Amal has legs like a young colt and can rock that length of pant with heels. Didn’t you see those legs with that one floral short skirt at her wedding?

I love those green/ yellow gladiators. The only thing I would have liked to see what’s a touch if that color elsewhere…perhaps an earring or her purse…just a touch. Other than that she looked great. And I am envious of all you normal waisted gals who can wear capris or one piece bathing suits.

  33. I stand corrected then, Lulu! I do think, though, that at times the way Amal has dressed has made her look too long-waisted — for example, the blue low-rise pants with a white cropped top she wore before she was married and the low-rise camo jeans she wore not too long ago in Los Angeles. My point was that no matter our body type — tall or petite, super thin or curvy — we all look better in some things than others. And we know we’re becoming slaves to fashion when we wear something that isn’t flattering just because it’s trendy.

  34. Having heard various conversations over inns of court dinners, it is clear Amal is losing the credibility she had as a barrister. She was always very junior and relatively unknown in her profession, and the demands on the profession are such that juniors are expected to work long and hard and build up their own advocacy experience. From the few public speaking engagements I have seen, and her recent brief court appearance, it is clear that Amal could do with some more experience on her feet. She is very unlikely to get it given the public attention she covets. Instead it looks like she will be consigned to junioring with silks on cases where they could do with the publicity and will not get a chance to develop her advocacy. It’s a shame to see. Then again – she must have known this, and she looks to be happy with the trade-off she made.

    1. Interesting comment. I did research her career in detail and came to a similar conclusion – she in fact has relatively little “real” work experience. She finished university in her late 20s and she has always been just one of a big legal team on cases she has worked on (though the media often portray her as being the only one on the case!). Undoubtedly she is a smart girl and she has done well for herself but there are plenty of barristers her age who are more successful and I certainly think she has exited the rat race to a large degree – now getting involved only on cases that will suit her schedule and interests. I would do the same if I was in her shoes though! Working hard long hours is not enjoyable no matter how much you enjoy your profession. Plus she needs to work around George’s schedule – he’s an old school time and as proud of her as he is, I am certain he expects her to follow him around and fit herself to his career/schedule.

      1. Yes, it’s tough getting your own gig as a barrister. She would need to run a mix of her own relatively junior cases, coupled with some bigger ones where she works on a bigger team, for many years to get to the stage where she would truly lead on a major case. People often tout the Assange case in relation to Amal, but the true star of that case was Dinah Rose QC (absolutely brilliant advocate and amazing female role model!).

To her credit, Amal has never claimed to be any more than she is and much of this is media hype. I can’t speak for Amal’s colleagues, but can say that every one of those with whom she completed pupillage are in fact working on equally interesting cases as she is, but are also getting much more experience on their feet as barristers. They will make better advocates in the long run. This isn’t the kind of profession where someone as junior as Amal can opt out as she largely has, and still call herself a barrister of any material calibre.

  35. Nati, have you seen the latest post & pics of George & Amal? Friday, April 3, they had a nice dinner at Babbo Restaurant for the Easter weekend. Amal is wearing a stunning short black dress with a white Chanel style shoulder jacket. It’s a beautiful outfit that shows of those beautiful legs. It’s a short dress, very similar in length to the ivory short floral dress she wore the day after they were married.
