Amal Clooney was  spotted leaving the Carlyle Hotel in New York (one picture via Vogue.com). She wore a red coat by Paule Ka, with Prada boots, her Dior Bar bag and Harry Winston earrings (not confirmed). Finally a winter look 🙂

    1. That was not rain…. it was nearly a foot of snow. Most NYers take public transport and wear snow boots and puffy coats, not paula ka and prada…. just sayin … not very practical.

      1. Agreed, not very practical, but my guess, very typical for a class of woman who moves around Manhattan via car service.

    1. Por cierto jet-lagged por los tantos viajes – London-Egypt-NY…e tener que leer tantos papeles de su trabajo 🙂

  1. It’s nice to see her in something that didn’t cost $2000+. I like the coat. Seems to be a little snug at the top, but it may just be the way she is walking.

    1. I agree Lulu:) It is beautiful! But it does looks a bit tight on the chest…maybe heavy sweater under?…she does repeats certain pieces quite often..like the bag, those boots…love her simplicity on accessories. Love those earrings!

  2. I can’t believe she’s wearing a $387 coat! Finally something under $2000. Still, everything is name brands. i wish she’d wear a no-name or vintage or thrift store find once in awhile to keep people guessing.

  3. The Daily Mail has a second photo. She has some serious under eye bags. Must be working hard (the brief for Greece, prepping for Egypt and preparing to take on the “Hooded Men” case in Northern Ireland). Plus she worked in NYC before (at a law firm and for the UN) so she must have a lot of friends and contacts there to keep her busy. Sadly that outfit wouldn’t hack it if she had to stand at the bus stop in the winter we’ve been having here in North America. LOL. She looks very elegant though.

    1. her eyes look extremely tired, almost bruised. I heard that wet tea bags can help deflate eye bags due to the caffeine in them. Well at least spring is almost here to energize us all! 🙂

    2. I’ve noticed several pictures andI think she just has eye bags naturally, not necessarily due to being overworked. They are just camoflaged nicely at events…it can be done! I see a lower blepharoplasy in her future to remedy this. I think George had one done a few years back.

      1. maybe a bit … but it definitely increases when she is deep on her cases…like in Strasbourg..they were as well accentuated, but this time is the most i have seen…maybe because she is working in at least three heavy cases…..ouch!! I do not envy her job at all! …just her clothing 😉

    3. I would freeze in seconds under a NY weather hahaha… good thing she is keeping war inside a car:) I can only imagine how much readings lawyers have to do…( aaaaahhhhh i find it a hard job:(-(…) and all the jet-lags!! No wonder she takes good care of herself to compensate…like great food for example. Well deserved! Her job is no joke, mentaly!

  4. Looks like AC has another high profile case she’s working on. She is representing the former Philippine president, Gloria Arroyo. According to the paper, Mme Arroyo has been unjustly imprisoned and Amal just filed a human rights complaint at the UN on behalf of her client on February 26. It explains the under eye bags! So she’s not just sitting about the Carlyle hotel waiting for George to come home. I admire her for keeping her career (and looking stylish while doing it) 🙂

    1. True. But keep in mind, although accomplished, the name Clooney at the end of her name catipalted her to a whole other level…in other words….no surprise that she is going to be thrown a TON of high profile cases. She’s done more in 6 months (since being married to George) than she has her entire career. Just read her resume profile (bio) on her law firm website. It’s now constantly being revised…I’ve been following it. Believe me, now that she is married to George…she will constantly be thrown high profile human rights cases, she will be encouraged to write books, do lectures, etc. Her career has now “up-ed it’s game” 100%!
No surprise she’s tired…she has a full plate of work…and then some! 🙂

      1. Actually, it appears that Amal has been working on the Gloria Arroyo case for a while. Perhaps it is due to a personal connection? Carmen Pedrosa, who is a personal friend of the Arroyos attended the Clooney wedding, so that implies that Pedrosa must know Amal somewhat well (perhaps through Baria, as Pedrosa calls her by her first name in the article below – they are fellow journalists, after all).

Here’s an article that dates to the time around her wedding, written by Pedrosa:

Here’s another article about how Amal may have met Arroyo through Pedrosa:

  5. I like that she’s wearing vintage and other pieces she’s worn before. She looks very stylish and winter appropriate for some areas of the U.S. right now. However, as others here have pointed out, with regard to the cold weather in NYC, the outfit only works in NYC if you plan to be outside just long enough to walk from the hotel lobby to a waiting car. 🙂

  6. I think the coat is very pretty. It probably is an old piece from Amal’s closet. Like the old Versace floral jumpsuit. I think this Amal’s real style and I like this coat a lot more than the red Versace coat she wore on her way out of LA. It just feels a lot less pretentious. I would love to see her in these kind of clothes. She seems more approachable and real when she doesn’t have a 7k worth of clothing on her…. She is a busy women and appears to be on her way to a meeting, so dressed accordingly. I wouldn’t expect her to wear puffcoat and Uggs on her way to meet an ambassador or some other UN figure to discuss one of her clients..

    1. Well put Frida 🙂 And it is not like she will be standing out in the cold for too long. My only concern is…do those booties have enough snow traction…?? (for some reasons, i would not have chosen these booties with this outfit…something quite don’t match with those booties, in my humble opinion..maybe the color and texture….something is off…) …also, i would had enjoyed seeing some gloves in such weather… gloves are always elegant, stylish, and keeps the hands beautiful and protected from freezing 😉 But again… she is outside for just a bit, i bet!

      1. Ooops, disregards my comment on the boots for this outfit… they are great!!… i was looking at her white coat outfit with the leather pants NY pictures… i got confused 😉 However, i stick to the – needed gloves – choice for this outfit as well as the other one:)

She looks perfect on this one…just a bit less tightness on the coat chest area, would had made it even better.

    1. I am quite sure that she will be aiming for U.S. citizenship now that she has married George. Having an academic appointment here in the U.S. (even a temporary one) will help her with her application for Permanent Residency.

      1. She might already have one. 1. She attended NYU for law school. 2. I do not think you can teach at Columbia University in NYC, the USA, without having United States citizenship. I don’t think you can work and hold a job in the USA without having american citizenship.

      2. U.S. citizenship for her is not listed anywhere, just British and Lebanese. Furthermore, one can attend law school in the U.S. as a foreign national, and foreign nationals can take the New York bar exam. Finally, it is totally possible to work in the U.S. without citizenship. In fact, I’ve known many visiting professors at U.S. academic institutions who are foreign nationals.

  7. It can slso be a sign of a recent Botox intervention around the eyes. As you can see, she has the upper lid fold more visible than before and the bottom lid swallen. The usual advice is a high bed rest pillow, morning face massage, ice cubes used in a soft circular motions and as someone said, caffeine rich wet tea bags.
When botox is applied only to your forehead, the double fold of the upper lid can be seen, but when it is combined with the around the eye infiltrations, the impaired lymph drainage can result in a puffy lower lid.

  8. Love the color on her but red is always flattering to her. As others have already pointed out, the fit across her chest is a little too tight though perhaps she’s wearing an extra layer underneath which makes the coat’s fit problematic.

  9. I can’t believe the discussion about eye bags and blepharoplasty. Isn’t there enough cultural pressure on women to look perpetually young without other women — fans of Amal no less — piling on? The fact that she looks tired says to me that she’s probably been working hard. This is a sign of character, not a cosmetic flaw.

    1. RIGHT ON Janet! Women, if not all of humankind, needs to be more accepting and tolerant of little insignificant flows… for gosh sakes! The woman is jet-lagged and tired, that is all! Try just one 13 hours flight overseas and you can feel like crap, no matter how comfortable the airplane seats are, it takes a toll on the body and sleeping habits. And i bet she is doing beyond just one flight… So what if she looks tired for some pictures? That shows she is human! It is beautiful to be imperfect! Under-eye bags can even sexy… it shows strength…so do wrinkles… they show character and are sexy (Robert Redford, Brad, George, Sean, etc,,, etc,,) Imperfections are the PERFECTION that we must embrace. Besides, not everybody is doing Botox folks! She seems well accepting of her features as she is! …and…nothing like a great night of sleep… cuddling with George! hehehe i bet he cuddles nice with those sexy arms… 😉

    2. Janet, I think that you ve missed the point of these comments.
She is human as we are, and it is normal to have a bad hair day, bags under the eyes, or a wrkinkle on your clothes without seeming obese or ugly. yet just human.
You are obviously underestimating her impact on many young women lately, and their dreams of getting the same figure, professional achievments, love story or you could call it a life opportunity.

At the same time, over the night , from a barely known barister she has become an almost celebrity, being followed by paparazzi with all the media pressure there can be.
Her willingness to potrey an impeccable (thin) figure and perfect appearance may have pushed her to go further, but it is really not neccessary. Nor it is necessary for many young women to think that she is so perfect, when we all know that aside from the photoshop, she has a team of beauticians that care for her image. Therefore, no one needs to be fooled by the airbrushed magazine photos,

Instead, one should keep in mind that most of the comments here are very healthy because they help understand, metabolise and realize that she is a nice, ethnic looking girl that follows fashion trends and tries to interpret them in her own way, and should be valued together with her professional accomplishments.

At the same time, as the difference in her eye palpebras is evident, it is normal to comment that and ease the pressure on the young women that may see her as a role model as well as ease the pressure that she is under, because the beauty should be viewed as a whole, multidimensional value, and not only its aesthetical aspect.

Understanding that some of her beauty traits are artificial, like maybe hair extentions, fake eyelashes or maybe even a botuline injection can save a lot of her followers from feeling unhappy about their own physical appearance, as well as help them achieve the same result once they know what it is about.

In other words, is just like getting an ID on a dress, a bag or a coat she wears.

PS. she doesn’t look tired, she looks swallen.

      1. Ana, while i’m not an expert when it comes to cosmetic surgeries and you seem more knowledgeable than me on this topic, I don’t believe that Amal did anything to her eyes. I think her eyes are naturally bulgy and when she is tired, they look swollen and the bag under her eyes are more prominent. i remember first noticing the bulginess and the bags under her eyes in the photos of her from last winter in NYC wearing a printed bottom and a back top. Anyways, look at yesterdays photos of her with her brother, his eyes are bulgy/swollen/red/ tired looking and he has bags under his eyes too. It is clearly a trait that runs in the family, unless you want to tell me that both Amal and her brother went and did their eyes together!

      2. Clara,
        These are two different things.
Her brother has a different eyeball type and constitution, and you are right, his eye bags look a lot like her from a year ago, at least from what I ve seen on the internet.
To make it simpler, think of it this way: have you ever seen her frawn her forhead lately? Have you noticed any wrinkles around her eyes? No.
Botuline puffiness around the eyes is common in the morning, not in the evenings.
As for whether she has done it or not, it is arguable, but considering other signs and clues, it is very probable.
Unfortunately, as someone noticed, from a cute girl, with a personality, after adding the hair toss and constant checking for cameras, she is transforming into an imitation rather than being a genuine person.
Therefore I wouldn t be so surprized that she uses other means to improve her physical appearance.

  11. Beautiful woman and beautiful selection of haute couture choices. As always. BUT, I must admit…the constant public hair toss over and over again is becoming a bit much. She did NOT do that prior to marrying George. The whole hair toss thing started the very next day when stepping out for the very first time as husband and wife…and it has NOT stopped ever since. It’s too orchestrated and too repeated! Again, beautiful woman and beautiful clothes, but the constant hair toss is a distraction. 🙂
