Personnaly I was more impressed by her JeSuisCharlie pin and the price of her Harry Winston earrings than her white gloves and I am not sure that she sewed her leather gloves herself… a joke for the press.

Personally I was most impressed by her idea to wear those white gloves togethet with the white clutch. She showed her high class sense of style – outstanding of all the Hollywood stars and starlets and beging the only one at this high level of taste!

My favorite outfit of the evening was Emma Stone in the jumpsuit, but Amal was a close favorite. Thank god she doesn’t feel compelled to wear deep cleavage baring gowns, I am so sick of seeing that sort of thing. Honestly, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson were so incredibly tacky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello – I just wanted to respond to the work question you had. Lawyers(barristers) spend most of their work day doing paperwork and reading up on cases and it is only a small percent of time they are actually in court (lawyers of Amal’s line of work I mean). So she can still work in Kentucky while celebrating Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad Clooney, Christmas and New Years in Mexico , etc. Im sure they extended their stateside leave to incorporate George’s award on Sunday but Amal is still most likely working on cases in this manner and prepping for her next case. I would love that kind of schedule by the way!!!

She is working on the Armenian Genocide case and the first hearing at the European Court of Justice was scheduled on 28 jan., as was mentioned in an online article. I forgot which one.
As for the gloves, I like her bold move. Wearing gloves to events was really a thing from the past, you know Old Hollywood, and I think it’s great that she starts this trend again. She has her own style and she sticks to it and I really like that. What a difference with Kate Hudson, for example.

Princess Diana was the last person I really followed their style, and enjoyed reading about. (This shows my age). After her passing, I’ve not really been interested in reading in anyone else until Amal. I think she is just gorgeous and I love her clothes and style. I found myself actually googling her and found your website..it’s wonderful!
She was the best dressed at the awards, and those gloves! just set off that outfit. It truly wouldn’t have been that noteworthy without them, and the white clutch. Helen Mirren came in 2nd, IMO.
Although I would kill for her hair, I’d like to see her wear it up once!

I never hike (in my Arizona desert), dig a hole or climb a tree without wearing good-quality gloves because my fingers are vital for all of my computer work. So, not only does Ms Amal look classy in her white gloves, if she trips and lands with out-stretched hands, the gloves provide vital protection for her hands. Gloves are chic yet practical!

I think the gloves were too big. If you look at the other celebs posted their gloves fit them. I thought they cheapened the purse. I think made the purse look patent leather.

I love the white gloves with the black dress! Thank you for finding all those old photos of other celebrities from the Golden Age wearing similar outfits. Amal is so effortlessly beautiful and always ladylike. She outshone all the Hollywood stars and proved that you don’t have to bare cleavage to be stunning. I love her fearless sense of style.

Amal wasn’t trying to be anybody other than herself, other women have worn gloves not just the one’s shown above. George is considered to have old Hollywood style when he wears a tux Amal complimented that.

Pat, Remember you can work from anywhere in the world today with the available technology. Plus I have a feeling she can set her own hours and has a very good support staff. Think of all of the well known professionals that travel and work. Example is billionaire businessman Richard Branson who does a lot of his work from his private island in the British Virgin Islands. Richard works while lounging on a hammock and in between outings on his boat. When you are in a higher position with money and resources it’s easy to make it happen.

Actually I’m out of the country right now and doing preparatory work for one of my engagements. I work virtually 90% of the time and only fly in for meetings as needed. So I shouldn’t be that surprised. I was drawing my previous

I feel like I’m on an O.J. Simpson blog. Gloves are an elegant accessory when they fit. I am an antique clothing dealer. If you are wearing evening gloves, they will be leather and will fit tightly. Mother of pearl buttons or snaps secure the fit. Those gloves looked ridiculous. Many of my bridal customers look for vintage French leather gloves. Look at how a perfect fitting glove works by tuning in to Downton Abbey.

I love opera gloves with formal wear and thought Amal’s were almost perfect. I say “almost” because I think they should’ve been pulled up all the way, over the elbow to the upper arm. I think that’s the most elegant look with a formal gown. But that’s a minor quibble. She looked tremendously beautiful and classy, unlike so many of the actresses there.

Wow! How about we form a panel to critique the panel on the “Fashion Police”. Do they ever look in the mirror. If they do it must be a magic one. They should be so lucky to get to wear a Chanel gown made just for them. Oh but wait…NOT! I give the “Fashion Police” a thumbs down for a very poor show.
